Katabasis: A descent to the underworld.
In this series I am thinking about the literal and metaphorical functions of the soil. It is where the world is remade; where the dead resurrect, and our guts are fed. I am looking at the importance of exchange, mutuality, systems in underworlds, and imagining forms that create connections in our brains and guts and food. I am regarding the sacredness of the microbiome and exploring the essential pieces of us—imaging sound, movement, time, molecules into colors and patterns and forms that feed and coalesce and decay.
